These seeds were open pollinated from a mix of well-known named dahlia cultivars. Being open pollinated this means they will not come true from seed but the combinations will be gorgeous, who knows what gems you may get!

Sow: Spring & Summer

How: Sow either in cell trays or punnets, 5mm deep covered with a fine layer of seed mix or vermiculite. Protect from slugs & snails. Germination 7 - 14 days

Where: Full sun

Spacing: Transplant to 30cm - 50cm spacings.

Height: 1m – 1.5m

Growing Tips: Plants can be pinched out to encourage branching. Plants will benefit from staking once planted out.

Watch plants for damage from earwigs, katydids, thrips & caterpillars. Young plants should also be protected from slugs, snails, rabbits & possums! 

Keep picking to encourage flowering into autumn.
