5 Seed
A great evergreen for under trees & other shady frost-free areas.
Woodland Glory is hybrid produced from a crossing Clivia caulescens & Clivia gardenii. Flowers are narrowly bell-shaped, pendulous, & orange tipped green produced on strong stems throughout Aug/Sept. These seed have been produced from the best of Dr Keith Hammetts breeding stock.
Sow: Seed is best soon as soon as the seed is received. This way it stays fresh & plump. If it is unable to be sown straight away store in the fridge until sowing.
How: Sow into deep seed trays or pots, 1cm deep. They need to be deep as the roots are strong & fleshy. Prick out & pot on plants once they have 2 good sized leaves.
Plant Where: Partial to full shade.
Spacing: Plant out once plants are large enough to not get lost in the border! Approx 50cm apart. This could mean the plants will be up to a couple of years old by the time of planting.
Height: 50cm - 1m x 1m wide after a good number of years
Growing Tips: Protect flowers from damage by slugs & snails.
NOT frost hardy but larger more mature plants will tolerate light frost if grown in shade.
Plants grown from seed can take up to 5 years to flower, but the wait is well worth it!
