Amaryllis belladonna mixed colours
10 Seed
A great, easy bulb for naturalising in gardens.
These seed are from open pollinated plants of high quality so a mix of colours & markings can be expected.
Seed of this bulb germinates & grows rapidly, including if the seed are stored in the fridge! - this means we can only offer these seed for a short period - March to April.
Flowers appear in summer before the autumn rains, normally in Feb. As the flowers set seed the leaves start growing.
Sow: Seed is best soon as soon as received as they germinate very quickly!
How: Sow into seed trays or pots or sow where they are to flower. You can cover with mix but if they fall from a parent plant in the garden they often just germinate where they land, on the surface! So they can also be surface sown.
Plant Where: Full sun to part shade. Full shade will result in overly long, stretched, stems.
Spacing: Plant out once the bulbs are large enough to not get lost in the border! Alternatively sow in the border. Depending on how large they are at planting space appropriately.
Height: 60cm tall
Growing Tips: Protect flowers and very young plants from damage by slugs & snails.
